Our Story

Charlotte Hmong Alliance Church began in 1994 with a few faithful families who were devoted in meeting together as believers. They rented from an American church at the time but God had bigger plans for this church. Then in 1995, God blessed our people with our current existing church. The members at that time reached out hoping to rent from this church only to find out that it was ready to be sold. The sellers found out that our people were from the same denomination of C&MA and sold it to us for a discounted price. Of the few families, they were able to sacrificially raise enough money for the down payment needed. The church mortgage loan was finally paid off in 2010.

Throughout the years, we have had many faithful pastors shepherd our flock.

  • Xf Ntshab Vaaj Thoj (1995-2004) was the first pastor of our church.

  • Xf Ntsuab Kuas Thoj (1996-2002, 2006-2010) was a lay pastor.

  • Xf Tswv Xyoo Yaaj (2005-2011) brought revival to our church and trained young leaders by introducing TEE.

  • Xf Suav Yaaj Hawj (2012-2014) introduced younger leaders into leadership roles.

  • Xf Moua Thoj (2014-2017) helped lead our youth for three years.

  • Kx Txawj Yag Muas (2018-2023) was youth pastor and invested in the next generation.

  • Kx Txawj Pov Vaaj (2016-present) is the current senior pastor at CHAC that started investing in discipleship through Lifegroups.

  • Xh Yaosoua Muas (2024-present) is the current assistant pastor at CHAC who helps teach TEE and other ministries.

  • Xf Daniel Kue (2024-present) is the current youth and young adults pastor at CHAC who oversees youth and young adult ministries, fellowship, and hangouts.

 Statement of Faith

  • We believe in triune God (Deut. 6:4) who is infinitely perfect (Matt. 5:49) and exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matt. 29:19).

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the fully God and the fully man (Phil. 2:6-11). He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin Mary (Luke 1:34-38). He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for every unrighteous sinner to reconcile us to God (1 Pet. 3:18) and now sinners are justified through faith (Rom. 5:1). Jesus rose from the dead according to Scripture (Acts 2:23-24) and now currently is at the right hand of God on high as our great High Priest (Heb. 8:1). Jesus will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness, and peace (Matt. 26:64).

  • The Holy Spirit is a divine person (John 14:15-18) sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer (John 16:13; Acts 1:8) and convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement (John 16:7-11). The Holy Spirit is given as a seal and identifies God’s children as His own at conversion (Eph. 1:13, Rom. 8:15-16).

  • The Bible that consists of the Old Testament and New Testament is God breathed, inspired, and has all authority from God (2 Pet. 1:20-21) for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16).

  • Man was created in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 1:27) but disobeyed and sinned against God bringing upon physical and spiritual death (Gen. 3). Both men and women are born with a sinful nature (Rom 3:23) and can only be saved through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 15:20-23). All sinners are under God’s wrath but can be justified and saved through faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

  • Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become children of God (Titus 3:4-7). We understand that our works cannot save us, but it is by grace through faith that we are saved (Eph. 2:8-9).

  • Sanctification is the process of pursuing holiness, becoming more like Jesus, and imitating our Savior in every area of our life. After being justified through our faith in Jesus Christ, we live in the Spirit who actively works in our life to bear fruits that marks us as God’s children (Gal 5:22-23). It is a daily process of being obedient to God through the help of the Holy Spirit and using our bodies as a living sacrifice to worship God (Rom. 12:1). We are able to live pleasing lives for God because we have been set free in Jesus Christ from sin and death (Rom. 8:2).

  • The Church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the head of the Body, the Church (Eph. 1:22-23). The Church, which consists of every believer, has been commissioned by Jesus to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel to all nations (Matt. 28:19-20). The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship , the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Acts 2:41-47).

  • Christ will return again. The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent (Heb. 10:37) and will be personal, visible, and premillennial (Luke 21:27). This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service (Titus 2:11-14).
